I hate school. Much to my parents dismay, I don't really believe in "further education." I am in a city where it's not what you know, it's who you know (and I know a lot of people). As a creative person, I don't understand how me sitting in a class, having a professor teach me how to be creative is going to benefit my future. Thinking outside the box is something you can't teach in a classroom, it's something you are born with. Forget homework, I have been working on a "project" for 6 months...It's called METROsektual.com. I didn't need a teacher to assign it to me, my passion and creativity naturally drove the project. -And I don't need a grade to confirm my talents, the word of mouth about the site is validation itself. Being in a classroom full of students learning the "right way" to do things is (to me) stifling...I prefer to venture out and create my own way. The best thing I got from high school (not my diploma) was getting voted "Best Dressed." This "All-American" outfit reminds me of my high school style. I wore Abercrombie & Fitch religiously, and hated wearing the same outfit twice...needless to say the money for my college fund was probably blown on my senior wardrobe...Money well spent!
